ReplyDeleteChapter 4 really helped me realize that i should not ignore unfamiliar words. Next time I come across a word i am unsure of, I will break down the word into parts. If that does not work and i have no dictionary around, i will jot down the word and get back to it later. This chapter was very helpful to me and now i feel better about learning new words. You guys should try this technique as well.

Good evening Prof. Westry, while I was reading chapter 4 I learned that practicing and learning news words is beneficial for our vocabulary, reading, and writing. I will be practicing this method.

Good Morning Prof. Westry,
ReplyDeleteWhilst reading chapter 4 I learned techniques on how to approach unfamiliar vocabulary. Using the prefix, root and suffix methods I will now be able to break down the word as well as understand it. This will be an advantage in the long run as I will not need to turn to the dictionary for unfamiliar vocabulary.

Goodmorning,
ReplyDeleteChapter 5 was a good quick strategy to make sure you understand what you are reading. All of these techniques are easy to do before and after you have read something.
Chapter 5 is a very important strategy to help understand your reading. It also teaches you how to comprehend your reading more. I definitely use these techniques in the future when I read.
ReplyDeleteChap 5 was really nice. I found lots of important and useful information. The most important thing was SQ3R and previewing tips. I will use this techniques next time in my assignment for sure.
